My third novel, Bonnie Lass, is a current Work in Progress.
Bonnie Winter is a sixteen-year-old girl from a sleepy, charming resort town in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. Deeply troubled due to an early childhood tragedy, and then later the death of her beloved father, Bonnie strikes up an unlikely friendship with Sean Callahan. Cally is a seventeen-year-old soccer player from Ireland about to start his Gap Year with several visits, all alone, to a handful of countries that Bonnie has only ever read about. Enchanted by the affable, kind hearted nature and the fierce independence of this salty Irish boy with quirky injuries and a sing-song brogue, Bonnie makes the decision to disappear from her home and life to accompany Cally on his right-of-passage trip. A story of true friendship found in a world full of loss, grief and heartache, Bonnie Lass reminds us that there are indeed kindred spirits for us all – sometimes you need to go to the other side of the world to find them.
