The Eric DeJong Memorial Fund

My award winning debut novel, Scout’s Honor, was used during the year 2016 to raise funds for Colon Cancer Research at the University of North Carolina Lineberger Cancer Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in honor of my husband’s battle with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Eric lost his fight with this horrible and devastating disease on September 29th, 2016, at the age of 47.

Eric was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and veteran. He was a 1991 graduate of the United States Military Academy and served as an officer in the United States Army. The Gary Sinise Foundation RISE program was chosen as the charity that would best represent his memory. There are no more deserving charitable efforts than ones that directly benefit veterans who have given so much of themselves in service to this country.

For the year 2017, my book, Scout’s Honor, will be used to raise awareness for the Gary Sinise Foundation RISE program, which provides severely wounded veterans with smart homes. I am honored to attach my husband’s good name and my author proceeds for this year to this fundraising effort on behalf of these incredibly brave service members.

If you purchase my books, please know that all of my author royalties and profits go to this fund, The Eric DeJong Memorial Fund. If you want to make a donation directly to this important cause, help me support the Gary Sinise Foundation by making your donation directly on the fundraising page. The process is fast, easy, and secure. I truly appreciate any support you can provide.

Thanks so much for your generosity!
